Limiting Beliefs are they Chicken or Egg?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Chicken or the egg?I hope that you are all enjoying some wonderful weather and you’ve been able to make the most of the sunshine.

I thought, as a pre-empt to our Mind Development Night on Thursday 5th May and our upcoming Beliefs Workshop on the 14th May, I would share with you a client story so you can see just how easy it is to get trapped in a limiting belief cycle.

Bill is a landscape gardener and when he came for a session, his presenting problem was, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, which he had been suffering with for two years. Bill explained that it had all started just over two years ago when he had taken on the biggest job of his career. He had completed it on time and the client was happy, but throughout the job he had felt “overwhelmed” by it and “all the joy and colour has gone out of my work” he said. Read More→

Past Life Regression Can Take You Anywhere! In the last few decades and even more in recent years, past life regression (PLR) has risen considerably in popularity along with other activities related to spirituality. It is considered by many to be a method of spiritual healing and growth.

What is the principle behind it? Well, many believe that every human represents the sum of his or her past life and the one that they are currently living. Therefore, PLR represents the act of using hypnosis in order to recall different aspects or details regarding the past lives of the individuals. This phenomenon has been steadily increasing in popularity and is in use by people interested in their spiritual pursuits and in psychotherapy. A lot of the people who believe and propagate the idea of past life regression do not firmly stand by the idea of reincarnation. Read More→

Limiting BeliefsOften we kid ourselves that decisions take ages but the truth is that indecision takes ages, the moment that you actually decide anything, is just that, “a moment” Surely then, if this is the case, we should all be capable of making good, sound, conscious decisions, quickly?

The answer lies within your beliefs, if the decision allows you to be fully aligned with your life purpose then it should take an instant.
So, what stops you from going out and grabbing a whole chunk of what you want? In one word Consequences.

What are the Consequences of going for it?
The dictionary defines consequence as something that logically or naturally follows from an action or condition. So consequences are made up of our beliefs and values that support our life purpose, whether we realise it or not! How do you know what you believe is true to anybody else but you? Read More→

Is silence really golden?

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Is silence really golden? The kettle is on and we’re ready for a cup of tea in our own kitchen. We’ve just arrived home after completing our coaching program in the French Alps with a chosen few. The past week marking the beginning of a new life for our students! An especially big thank you to Lynn and Paul Dearlove, our fantastic out door coaches. The bustle of the airport is behind me, I’ve reacquainted myself with my two dogs and I’m now sitting quietly, appreciating the perfect silence, bliss!

Having a moment to reflect, I find myself wondering;is silence really golden? Is keeping shtum always the best option? Having realised just how noisy our lives have been these past few weeks. Only now, in the quiet calm, am I able to fully appreciate everything that has been happening.

Martin Luther King said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” That’s why, every month, I write this column, because it matters to me. So, what matters to you that you are being silent about? Do you have an area in your life that causes you not to speak your truth? Read More→

Top coaching tips, what is your yes really worth?

So just what is your yes worth?

How DO you make sure you don’t end up doing things you’d rather not do!
Someone has asked the question. There is a hesitation in you….. You want to say ‘no’ and you say…. ‘yes’
What possible reasons could there be for saying no?
• It’s outside your comfort zone?
• You have few resources for this?
• It is of no interest to you?

So, you run through all the reasons for saying ‘no’.
What do you think would happen if you said yes? It could be that:
• You would become more confident
• It would make another person pleased
• You may acquire a new interest

Then, all it is then is a simple cost/benefit analysis. Read More→

I lost my friend to an internet cult…

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Cult stole my friend.Just over a year ago a very dear friend of mine, was invited to a free weekend seminar, which promised to change her world forever and sadly it did but for all of the wrong reasons…

My friend, let’s call her Mary, liked the look of the free course that was on offer for absolutely free, nada, zilch and she asked me to accompany her. Everything looked too good to be true and you all know that old saying of “if it looks to good to be true, then it probably is” well guess what???

We walked into a large hotel that had banners everywhere showing smiley, shiny pictures of the main speaker. His acolytes, wearing bright coloured tee shirts, keenly locked a plastic band around our wrists and herded us into the main auditorium. If you’ve ever scene the Walt Disney classic movie Pinocchio, then you might have a clue at what we were suddenly starring at! Read More→

Another insight prior to next months one day workshop on how it might be for you within your relationship.

Have you ever heard the saying, “His bark is worse than his bite?” Chances are the originator of that saying had the “Fear of Vulnerability” in mind. In other words, those who bark the loudest are often the most insecure; the most scared and feel the most vulnerable themselves. Read More→

Get onboard our one day workshop working with your relationships

Work with your relationships

This month I will be leaning towards relationships and how you engage with others. It’s a shameless plug for our Pina Colada Song Workshop, which is happening February 12th 2011. The song in question tells of a man who is bored with his relationship and is just going through the motions. He reads an add in the personal column where a woman who is in the same situation is hoping for something new. The guy forgets his partner and goes for it. They meet a couple of days later and guess what? The woman is in fact his partner!
and I bet you know someone that could do with meeting Sonya and I on Valentines weekend.

So today’s insight… Read More→

Are you on the road to nowhere?

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

Road to NowhereThe new year is upon us and are you where you expected to be? If you get into the habit of goal setting you will be benefit by having more control in your life, after all you wouldn’t drive your car without knowing where you’re going would you? write down your goal(s) for 2011 (take your time and I’ll tell you how). Then, put the piece of paper in an envelope, seal it, address it to you, put a stamp on it and give it to a friend to keep until December when (s)he should post it back to you.

The key to goal setting is to understand this: your life is going to change, whether you want it to or not. But wouldn’t it be nice if next year, you’re sitting here where you want to be, with the friends you want to be with, living as you wish?

To decide on the goal, use the smarty model – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Rewarding, Time-framed and You ( this has to be your goal and not anybody else’s example quitting smoking because your partner wants you to!) Read More→
